Vibration Control
VARIABLE PITCH - Irregular spacing of the cutting edges of a tool.
VARIABLE PITCH - or (variable spacing) is part of the tool design we use to prevent chatter. Chatter results when the cutting edge hits the work piece with a steady frequency. Variable Pitch or (variable spacing) aims to avoid chatter by preventing a steady frequency.
FULL ECCENTRIC RELIEF - The relieved surface behind the cutting edge having a Convex form.
ECCENTRIC RELIEF - also helps in damping vibration. When a tool deflects the eccentric relief comes in contact with the work piece and may rub slightly absorbing the shock which also helps prevent vibration.
These two features combined with our superior tool design practically eliminates vibration allowing heavier cuts at greater speeds.
Advantages:
- Stronger cutting edges than a flat or concave relief
- Smoother edges and better finishes on the cutting edges
- Longer tool life
- No vibration
- More aggressive cuts
- Faster speeds and feeds
IMPORTANT: Re-sharpening information for eccentric relieved High Performance Supermills.
Re-sharpening inside the flute maintains original radial rake angle, flute depth and eccentric relief, also minimizing OD reduction.
Maintaining the tools original tool geometry gives you a re-sharpened endmill that performs close to a new endmill's performance.
Standard endmills sharpened on the OD's lose radial rake angle inside the flute and diameter leaving a poor performing re-sharpened endmill.
COATED ENDMILLS - We recommend recoating after sharpening. For best results return to Primary Cutter LLC.
